Sinister: Drummer available for Tribute Tape
Hi; If anyone is thinking of doing a song for this tribute tape and needs someone to lay down the drum track and/or vocals, I would like to do that, as I am a drummer/singer but know not of guitar. Also, do y'all think that the "State I Am In" from Tigermilk is kind of weak compared to the rest of the album, especially considering how great it came out for the EP? Why does the best song on the album sound the worst? Or is it that I'm comparing it to the more produced second version? My vote for best cover art: 3... 6... 9... -Brier (hoping I haven't angered anyone else besides you-know-who by saying you-know-what which I haven't done and didn't mean to strongly suggest that anyone else should do either, unless you're fed up and want to.) +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list please mail "sinister@majordomo.net". Erm, the songs on the DOW EP are actually older than those on Tigermilk, and only feature half the current band and a load of session musos. The version of "The State I Am In" on the EP is the demo for the finished version which appears on Tigermilk, which presumably is more produced. Oh, and I think the 369 artwork is great if only because it is so blatantly ripped off a Smiths album cover (Rank). Right, I'm not really a sad bastard who spends their Saturday evening in front of the computer, so to prove it I'm off to a party. With lots of free booze. I wouldn't normally mention it, as I'm sure you don't really care, if it wasn't for the discovery I made in the pub a few nights ago that one of the blokes who is living just down the corridor from me this year, and who will also be at the party, is apparently a rather good friend of the Duke. Small world eh? Big Stu PS Why is it whenever I go out drinking, I always end up with A Guinness stain on my trousers, even when I haven't been drinking the stuff? +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list please mail "sinister@majordomo.net". All of "Dog on Wheels" certainly did sound older than IYFS anyway. I had wondered whether the drummer forgot how to keep time. It sounds as if the drummer was trying to SWING but couldn't keep it steady from one beat to the next. Definitely my least favorite release. I was pleasantly surprised when I finally heard _Tigermilk_. Did any copies of the Tigermilk LP ever make it to the US? Obviously it is much too late now, but I can't help wondering whether they were all sold by about the time "Lazy Line Painter Jane" came out. --Mark __ <http://www.xnet.com/~mkolmar/BurningRome> <MPEG 3 & RealAudio tracks> October 19th: SENSELESS CD on Mindfield Records MindCD03 Cathartium 14 +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list please mail "sinister@majordomo.net".
