Sinister: sinister: A wandering minstrel's song is sad indeed...
I have had many private e-mails asking why I call myself the original owner of a broken heart. The reason is simple yet sad - My entire experience of matters of the heart is rejection after rejection after rejection. Come the 5th July, my cards will read '18 and never been kissed'. *sigh* Onwards now to happier matters; I'm still looking for Cumbernauld sinisterines - I'm beginning to give up hope.... Where can I get a B&S poster - big as possible? I haven't found even the slightest mention of such items anywhere. Do they even exist? If not, why not? The B&S newsgroup is dying and is in urgent need of a transfusion, please, give just 1 minute every day, you too could save the group..... A new discussion topic for you - which cartoon should they bring back to shame the current pathetic attempts? My vote would be either Transformers or Visionaries. Both were amazing compared to modern replicas. That's all for now, please.... stay happy in whatever you do, you never know when you won't do it again. Both classics, undoubtedly, but what about He-Man and M.A.S.K?? Although come to think of it, anything would be better than the pants on the tellybox today. B&S related thingymajig: Has anyone heard any rumours about Bowlie 3????? Y'see, I missed the first one due to a gross miscalculation, and, although the line-up for Bowlie 2 is pdg, it ain't as good as the first one (due mainly to the absence of the Belles). By the way, Reading or T In The Park????? I'm already going to V99, want to go to T In The Park, but the Flaming Lips are playing Reading. All those who saw them at Bowlie (lucky b******s:-), were they really good enough to spend a whole day putting up with the likes of Offspring and Terrorvision????? Sorry for all this unrelated stuff, I'll just get me coat then . . . I really do think that they should bring back the Belle & Sebastian cartoon. It was simply fantastic and probably my fave cartoon about a boy and his St.Bernard dog. Call me cynical but I think that when B&S have their first no.1 the TV companies will cash in by putting the cartoon back on. If they did actually put the cartoon back on it would be weird. In this day and age groups have shows to promote their songs and then release stuff whereas people would no longer remember the B&S cartoon. Perhaps the B&S cartoon was the precursor to No Sweat and the Miami 7 show. I think that it is just a coincidence and any similarity is purely coincidental. It's quite a bummer that Belle and Sebastian are missing from that Bowlie 2 line up. I had been planning a holiday across the pond for that very reason, but alas, they shant be playing. I'm just curious how many folks will change their minds about going to Bowlie just because Stu & co won't be on the ticket. 20%? 50%? 80%? I'm sure the second one will be just as a success as the first, since the first sounded fairly amazing. Such is the way with these sorts of events, until they become big, choke on their own bloated trendiness, and then fall comatose in the corner when the next one rolls around. I'd like to think otherwise, but SXSW, Lollapalooza, etc. all seemed to start in similar ways. Then again, Yoyo A Gogo and some others seem to have held out. Maybe the small numbers of people/chalets will curb a truly mammoth version from ever rearing its ugly head... senor droolcup [ ashamed for missing the first Bowlie ] +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the reborn Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister@majordomo.net".
