hello jellytots it's 12:34am and, instead of going to bed, i'm going to listen to okcomputer in it's entirety and catch up with a mailbox full of sinister goings on. to those who were in attendance at the chemex/airport girl/luckies gig last week - thanks for coming along, and i hope that you all enjoyed yourselves. so am i to be the mary jo of nottingham? i guess that's ok. there are a million guitarists in 'indie' bands, so i like to be a bit different. it would be shame to waste many years of classical training. i'm a dreadful clarinet player though. for those who are interested - i know that arantxa didn't like the lucksmiths all that much, but i thought that there were rather splendid. any b&s comparisons are a bit wide of the mark though. i'm reliably informed that they sound like hefner, but i've never heard hefner, so i can't confirm it. whoever they sound like, their brand of slighty off-beat punky pop went down well amongst an unexpectedly large crowd. to cap it all, they were absolutely lovely people who spent a lot of time saying how good they thought that the other bands were. they also gave me all of their cd's for free. re. sinister pictures... i don't think anyone should be bothered whether others on the list like their pictures or not. i do the homepage for alt.music.blur which has pictures of many of the regulars, it's all a bit of fun really. it's nice to be able to put faces to some of the names. whether or not you're after any kind of trouser fumbling is best kept private. maybe i'll find a picture for sinister - but all of mine are either dreadfully horrible or dreadfully misleading. and finally - i've got tigermilk on shiny new vinyl, and it's wonderful. i've yet to study the tracklist and put titles to songs, but i don't think there are any that i don't like - so there are no complaints from my corner.
