Sinister: Re-Lyrical Particulars.
Danial wrote...... <<Please could someone inform me of a lyric from a B&S song which I cant quite work out with my own inadequate ear/brain combo. The song in question is the 'hidden' track at the end of the 3..6..9.. Seconds of Light EP. I know 'Belle and Sebestian...on the radio...playing songs for children' and the bit that goes'sorry for all the trouble we've caused' but there is another line which sounds like it ends in the word lunatic but this is what i am unsure of. Any smart ear/brain combo out there willing to divulge this valuable information? >> I believe the line in question is "playing songs to learn and sing", presumably a quote reffering to the Echo and the Bunnymen singles compilation of the same name. No doubt someone will have beat me to it, but there you go. Also Peter wrote..... << >BBC 2's perennial favourite "Call My Bluff", am I right? Come come now Mr Miller, I think you can do better than that. Indeed I can. After an entire weekend spent scratching my ever-expanding bald patch, it finally dawned on me that the line in question (we have a difference of opinion Jeffrey) did in fact come from a programme hosted by the aforementioned Jimmy Tarbuck. I can't for the life of me remember what it was....it wasn't "Whose Baby", that was Leslie Crowther and Phil Lynott.....it wasn't "Play Your Cards Right", that was Bruce Harris.....but it was something vaguely connected to the world of gambling, ten to one shots and so on. >> It was called Winner Takes All.
