Sinister: Re: sinister-digest V3 #318
Anyway, apologies for being quite hideously drunk almost permanently, and thanks to everyone, but especially huge thanks to Sez, Tim, Stevie>and Nick for putting me up and for putting up with me
Were you really that drunk? Was it you that stayed at my house? Were you the floppy red hair and the beautiful fingernails? See, I have no idea, Im still hung over four nights later, ooooeeeuurggh, it was a bad idea all that picnic virgin congregation y'know, (well, all three of us, one of which wasn't even a virgin, you little prostitute Mr Steve) Well no actually it was a very good thing, as is not taking anything to put the wine in so you think its a beer bottle and swig it all down very very rapidly. Excruciatingly rapidly. Which was great, and the Spread Eagle was great, unfortunately I dont remember much Tigerbashing bercause I had drunk it rather too quickly. No actually I think that was Steve at the Spread Eagle "Do you want a drink?" "No I'll fall over" "OK" "Actually, no Steve can I change my mind, a pint of vodka please". Blame it all on you, yeah, makes me feel better. Anyway, I got quite ill then, and I know I stood on my glasses, or someone did, so I dont know if they still were on my head at the time, I had a very large headache the next day:-( And I lost my purse, so Steve and you(?) had to pay for the taxi home, then I went to the loo and found Id stored it in my knickers:-( Its OK, last time I stored my camera in my bra. I stored my purse in there once and a lovely women I never met called a cab and gave me twenty quid and her address to get me home:-) So, for anyone I didnt shout and scream at and attack, Im sorry, Im the one with her camera in her bra, her purse in her knickers, a pint of vodka down her front and a glazed look in her eyes. Oh and apparantly I fell asleep at Tigermilking according to Steve, but I dont remember this. I was having no nice and cool dreams, I was searching under tables for my purse, and my knickers. So sorry for that. But it was great to meet people, Steve, Craig, Alasdair, Juicy Lucy, archel, Nick, and anyone else I met, especially before I injected the vodka down my throat and fell asleep. Nicx and to Joe>Brooker for being a genius and still humouring me by playing REM songs>for me to (very badly) sing.
The Foxgloves rule. English goats are great. That's all.
Love, Alasdair xx
PS You haven't lived until you've tasted Pam Berry's banana bread. And all she got in return was a silly badge. Good deal, I thought.

yo yo.
This is a shout-out to all my b&s homies.
I am a new sinister-type. Just a quick question. I am the only black guy into b and s? I don't know anyone else who is black and down with belle and sebastien. Not that it means anything. Because it don't mean a thang, if you ain't feeling sinister.
More importantly, this is some props to the boy checking the girl on the bus. Don't think twice, go find the girl at the grocery store, and get her digits. It'll be aiight.
On the Bob Dylan tip, let me just say to the guy disrespecting Bob, there is no point in dissin him. There is no justification. Don't be playa hatin'.
To the guy looking to buy a new disc, seems to me that if he's on a B&S list, he should really be buying the B&S selection.
On the B&S tip, am I stating the obvious by suggesting the tune WE RULE THE SCHOOL is a great tune that blatantly steals from the classical tune Pacabel Cannon (spelling?). I could be dreaming, though.
Peace to all the good people.

Does anyone else think Laura Llew should share her giant book list? I'm super curious about it. Maybe Honey can find a place in the library for such a list... That would make my millenium. Maybe it could be added to on-line even. Okay, maybe that's asking a lot, I know you're busy. But just the list then? Please? I'm on my virtual knees. Sharing is good. Grovelling bit over. I saw Godspeed You Black Emperor last night! They were amazing! The place was packed too - sold out. By the end of the show, quite a few jaws had unhinged in awe. Even the guy who kept calling people on his cell phone saying, "yeah, I'm at a concert, maybe we can hook up later, etc." had a moment of silence. I left very happy, in a similar to mood as after last week's Mogwai show. Two great shows in less than 2 weeks - wow. And, yes, yaaay to Kids in the Hall. This show accompanied me throughout my teenage years and on into uni, so I feel obliged to go see Dog Park (though the ads do make it seem very hollywood romantic comedy - I will give Bruce the benefit of the doubt.) Now everyone, do not be afraid, go rent Brain Candy! Another good thing about living in Canada: an hour of Kids in the Hall btwn 7 and 8 on the Comedy Network. Episodes are starting from the first season again! A good reason to learn how to program the vcr. Back to working indoors on possibly the last sunny *and* warm day for a long, long time... Robyn

Thanks and I won't be able to reply for a couple of days cause I'll be in Seattle, sorry for the off topic posts, but I'm in a bind...Cheers...Sam

Well, my plan for a Millennium celebratory picnic type thing seem to have flopped quite dramatically, so let's organise something else.
Anyone interested in a meetup in two weeks time, say Sat 2nd October, in Glasgow?
We can all meet up in George Square (as I actually know where that is) and just figure out what to do as the moment arises?
Get back to me someone, I'm desperate for a sinister precence in my life ;)

I can't believe anyone would suggest any other CD before "The Smiths." I think that If one starts out with The Smiths and then buys Louder than Bombs, then start filling in the gaps they would be very happy with their growing affection for the Morriseylicous sound.
I was so excited, when I was meandering around B-town looking for an anneversery gift for my boyfreind, I found (Albanian Steel Beds) Boo to the Buisness World for only $25.00 in a little jazz store off the beaten path. I love it. Anyways, weathers great here in Bloomington, love to you all. Mike
