Sinister: snog on eels
Hello, It has been a hectic week, been doing all sorts of stuff including (yippie) seeing Hefner again on Tuesday and dancing all night, (yippie) going to Offbeat and dance all night and (boo) got told off by my supervisor for doing no work and worked all night. I have just had the most horrific dream about being in a car crash, and the worse part was I didn't die or get injured, but I got an endless telling off by the other driver who happened to be my lecturer, and that's before I had to tell my parents about it. Scary. Scarred for life now. Even more scary, are that when you know a girl who you really like, and you just want to love them and love them but you love her so much that you get so scared of telling her in fear of her never speaking to you again. What is a boy to do, it's taken me a few years now, with many different subjects of affection, to figure it out, I haven't figured it out. I think I have figured out that some of the songs on Kid A are actually quite good, there are some pants ones but a few of them are superb. Like optimistic and motion picture soundtrack and idioteque which are like, grate. I do think though that a song is not boring because it's fast/slow/rock/punk/folk/pop, it's how much thought, effort and genius that has been put into it, but then I know John Shit's brother Jack so I should shut it. And yeah (as Arantxa said) everyone at the gig got accused of being Belle and Sebastian fans by Darren of Hefner.. first I thought, "oi", and then I thought, "oh yeah I am", then I laughed a little. I laughed even more, when I listened to the mp3 of "paper boat" downloaded from David White's page, and at the start, there is this bloke which for some reason says "Are you done with your toilet though?" in a French accent before the song starts! Hehe. I thought it was really amusing anyway.. :) Soft pillows and Red Bulls Ken ====================================================================== And maybe when we wake up in the morning, maybe when the darkness starts to fade, maybe in a paper boat, we'll both just float away - Belle & Sebastian +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the undead Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail sinister@missprint.org. as people are going on about Radiohead, for me it was strange: I had bought "Pablo Honey " long ago and never got anything out of it. It just wasn't any good to me. I could listen to Creep and then nothing. Then I bought Kid A (because it was on special offer and I thought it could be funny listening to another Radiohead album I don'T understand) and I tried liking that one, but of course it didn'T work out, as always for me and Radiohead. That's what I thought. Because after Kid A I put on P'Hun again, just to listen to Creep and think how I am like those people who hear "Blur" and think "song 2", just with RAdiohead. And suddenly something changed with me and this band and I found out: Pablo Honey is a party album. Nothing goes on as cool as "Anyone can play guitar". And then it's cool now: I can like a Radiohead album. But still, I haven'T got the point of Kid a. except for the last song, that one is okay. Kerstin "yeah, try not to lurk, baby" H. while there's no money-back guarantee on future happiness, i'd say that you've visited the thesis and antithesis. liked a little bit of both? head for the synthesis.
