Sinister: the 80's TV show was...
Battle of the Planets. According to the sixteen odd replies I got! My mind is at rest. Sorry to everyone for 1. bugging you with that thought, 2. not mentioning the following cool cartoons from the 80's, as I have been reminded by my fellow listers.... will o the wisp Dogtanian Dangermouse. I'd like to add a few things of my own here... Does anyone remember (and I doubt anyone will) when Kenneth Williams was on Blue Peter and he and Janet Ellis made Will O The Wisp characters, using coloured pipe cleaners? I wish I could remember how they did that. I loved Dogtanian, in the summer this year, me and some work cleegeues were e mailing the songwords round the office, and everyone had it stuck in their heads. All for one and one for all, Muskerhounds are always ready, One for all and all for one, Helping everybody.... etc etc etc. And as for other shows... Degrassi High (with the geek kid whop looks like Ross off of Friends) The Red Hand Gang (always with choppers) and by the way, pole position was the one with the two cars, one red one blue, with robots things in them and they were always racing. Battle of the Planets was CLASS. pure ClASS. Kids shows nowadays do not match up, in PURE, CLASSNESS. Oh my god! I found a Battle of the Planets theme MP3 thing!! coooooooooool!!! And theres a will o the wisp one! And Bananaman! this is heaven!!!! Stuff Legal Man! *grins* bye! Idles ps. Sorry to you die hardcore B+S fans.. Time for me to post again, methinks, since this is getting me all nostalgic. There were some truly top kids shows in the 80s, but I think my favourites were the UK kiddies cartoons (except Superted, which was poo). It's just set me wondering though - did people from outside the UK get to see such masterpieces as Dangermouse, Willo the Wisp, Bananaman and the like? However, despite all my nostalgia... idleberry@yahoo.com writes: Kids shows nowadays do not match up, in PURE, CLASSNESS. I don't think this is strictly true - if you're a lucky blighter, you'll have Cartoon Network, and can see the magic of Cow and Chicken, Johnny Bravo, I Am Weasel and Dexter's Laboratory. They are wonderful! I remember the Belle and Sebastian cartoon series, but I remember I hated it 'cos it wasn't funny, and the series always seemed to go on forever. Now, it would've been much better if B&S had been around to score the music - chases to Judy is a Dickslap, Belle & Sebastian as the theme music (okay, it wouldn't be very appropriate, but it would be a helluva lot better). It'd be top. Maybe they could redub the stories to fit in with the songs. Ah, you can always dream... Well, I can't think of anymore stuff to write (except to ask, should I be worried if someone tells me I look like Badly Drawn Boy without a teacosy on his head? I mean, his album's a winner and all, but... I don't think I do at all...) Ah well, bye all, Marc. +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the undead Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail sinister@missprint.org.
