Sinister: News from Dunoon
i promised to bring mr ben ferneyhough (who has the thankless task of running one of the great tapetrees on the list) some news back of dunoon. the nme, linda and grace have covered most of it, but as i got one of the photographers by the stage to acquire stevie's setlist for me (and then kindly left him to deal with one of the road crew who seemed to think they might need them again - oops!) here it is in it's full glory: le pastie de la bourgeoisie there's too much love the magic of a kind word i know where the summer goes if you're feeling sinister jonathan david slow graffiti the model (my girl's got) miraculous technique simple things the boy with the arab strap fox in the snow family tree like dylan in the movies i love my car the wrong girl woman's realm legal man as you can see there really was a gap in the setlist! they seemed to be enjoying themselves as much as we were - struan was doing a particularly energetic little jig to "suspicious minds" and after the first couple of songs they really relaxed and seemed very confident. although, stevie was thrown for a couple of seconds when singing " i was looking for my baby" from " the wrong girl" and struan interjected with a playful "did you find her?"! Dave Wilson And The Uptown Shufflers provided good support and those going to the glasgow gigs may be interested to know that they are going to be playing there too. i'm not sure quite what mixed reactions the nme were referring to, but i spent 16 hours of the weekend travelling to and from dunoon and considered it more than worth it and i'd be *really* grateful if anyone can contact me if they hear of any spare standing tickets to RAH. cress xox ----------------------------------- Cressida Darwin c.darwin@sghms.ac.uk St. Georges Hospital Medical School Opinions expressed those of the author and not the institution +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail sinister@missprint.org.
