Sinister: Spiders, Delgados and words. Oh my!
Hello. I must say you're all looking well. Lucy said: "Albino spiders! Hens' teeth! I brushed them onto the floor and tried to forget they were there because they gave me the willies." They give me the willies, the creeps and the shits all at once. Faced with two(!) albino spiders I probably would have ran out of the room screaming choice colloquialisms. Then gone back in and burned the bed. And the house just to make sure. Gordon whispered over the crowd: "Big words made easy Most big words are wee words strung together with choice letters missing and no spaces in-between. The Germans seem to specialise in this area." I once quizzed a German flatmate about the finer points of her language. The above seems to be correct - even to the extent of just making up portmanteau words as and when required. Fantastic! If only we could be that creative in English. The Sinisterlist would be a verbalfest of neuvauxlanguage. The Delgados are playing Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms on October 12 and I'm going to be there. G!R!A!T!E! Have fun Robster ____________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
