All the grousing about American music has really got me down a bit. I

it more than anyone, but I was sitting there one day and it hit me, and see if you agree with me:

Canadians have worse music than we do!

Otherwise, a nation full of scmaltz.

It dawned on me as I was drving in my car the other day listening to

do the

radio, then I heard a song that sounded like a cheesey advertising jingle for the lottery complete with studio sounding musicians going over and over "If I had a million dollars I'd buy your love..." It kept going on and on until I figured out "Hey, wait! This is an actual song!"

I cringed my way through the rest of it and later discovered it was the Barenaked Ladies! They're Canadian!

Nobody ever thinks of Canada when they talk about music, but I thought I would share this important public service announcement.

p.s. Arab Strap is not that great. It's nothing but bass and an occasional squealy noise. damn. I want my money back.
