Vanessa has complained several times, as she is the only Ausrian apparently in the list, so this posting is especially addressed to her, as I guess not many UK/North American listees are into Christine Nostlinger . She is an Austrian writers whose books for kids are fantastic. I read lots of her stuff when I was a child and also during my teens, I used to exchange her books with my cousins and neighbours. 'Konrad' is my absolutely favourite.It is about a boy who is made in a factory , that's why he is perfect, he always tidies his bedroom in time, he loves to go to school every morning and never has lollipops or icecreams because it's unhealthy.In spite of all these big defects, he is a lovely person, but the other kids at school cannot share this point of view , and he has to change ...etc in order not to be resent to a proper family instead of the quite hectic but friendly lady who has become his adoptive mother mistakenly Try to read it some time , it's great!
