My own shady and perhaps misinformed knowledge of this: Nils Bernstein was the head of publicity at SubPop a few years ago, and after a sort of putsch to reform SP's management left/was asked to leave...and promptly was asked to perform a similar function at Matador (B&S's US label of record). As I understand it, the inscription on the Looper 7" is the result of someone being a smartypants at Sub Pop and is not something that Stuart is responsible for or even necessarily endorses.
