hello goldfish. just a quick note to remind you all where all the really cool NYC people are going to be dancing and drinking the night away after the monday night gig. yes thats right...us NYC scenesters are heading down to the picturesque East Village to lig, swig, schmooze and booze with our hostesses Carol and Heather (yes, everyone knows them) at the Korova Milk Bar at 200 Avenue A between 12th and 13th streets. take a taxi there after the gig or take the L train downtown to First avenue and walk the rest of the way. its not far! so...i leave the pre-gig stuff to people like Ben or Brian and Matt...and the apres gig, yes its all up to me. *i love you all* kah mee mee loo loo...my furbish is not great yet but i'm learning. rachel +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list please mail "sinister@majordomo.net". Hi list! Philippe Garnier wrote:
Some days ago I tried to write the lyrics of Poupee de cire, poupee de son when listening to Isobel "au grand galop", but I failed in understanding all the sentences. Of course I don't mean that Isobel's french is bad! I love her french accent! But some of the lyrics remain obscre. So if someone can help me to achieve this important stuff (the original version by France Gall ?), you know were I am!
You're right, Philou (oh sorry, I had forgotten we were on the list...) : her french is excellent but... well... sometimes, we dont (yes, even we) dont understand a word. Anyway, here are the original lyrics of Poupée de cire written by Serge Gainsbourg. Je suis une poupée de cire Une poupée de son Mon coeur est gravé dans mes chansons Poupée de cire poupée de son Suis-je meilleure suis-je pire Qu'une poupée de salon Je vois la vie en rose bonbon Poupée de cire poupée de son Mes disques sont un miroir Dans lequel chacun peut me voir Je suis partout à la fois Brisée en mille éclats de voix Autour de moi j'entends rire Les poupées de chiffon Celles qui dansent sur mes chansons Poupée de cire poupée de son Elles se laissent séduire Pour un oui pour un nom L'amour n'est pas que dans les chansons Poupée de cire poupée de son Seule parfois je soupire Je me dis à quoi bon Chanter ainsi l'amour sans raison Sans rien connaître des garçons Je ne suis qu'une poupée de cire Qu'une poupée de son I dont know whether it will be interesting to some of you, it must be a useless message but who knows... Dear Sinisterees, I am heartbroken if it is indeed true that Isobel and Stuart are a couple. Me and my mate Marcus both have the biggest crush on Isobel. We worship her every day. We fell in love with her at the Shepherd's Bush Empire gig, when she wore *that* school uniform and looked absolutely fantastic. 'Wow!', we said, and sighed heartfelt sighs. If only.... So, can we look forward to any Isobel + Stu romantic duos in the future?? Dear Listees, Yeah, I for one am really into Rialto at the moment- very uplifting, with dark earthy undertones. They played at my uni a few weeks ago, and fairly rocked. Ive got five of their singles, but am not to sure if i can afford to get the album at the minute as im rather broke. Can anyone comment on the album? Has anyone bought the Acid House soundtrack? Is it worth shelling out for? The line up on it sounds pretty tempting...
