Sinister: The Matador Man Himself SPEAKS!
I came home from my stint at the radio station today to find out that B&S HAD SIGNED WITH MATADOR HERE IN THE STATES! The first thing I could think to do was email the Big Man himself, Gerard Cosloy, co-pres of said record company. Below, for your perusal, is Mr. Cosloy's response and my initial (excited) email. THIS IS SO COOL. YAY. (all join me now in a vicarious dance of joy) lovely, Amanda

Amanda,
You are welcome....and we are also very excited about this. We can't wait
to hear the new album.
We're hopeful that the group will be playing some shows in the U.S.,
though
we don't expect they will be playing very many.
We're not sure about the interview stuff...in the past, they've been
willing to do fanzines but not so willing to cooperate with the major music
papers. But we will discuss all of these issues with the group and their
management. When and if they are over here, our publicity dept. will do
their best to help you out.
thanks for writing,
GC
Mr. Cosloy--
I wanted to let you know that this is the best news I've heard in a good
long while. Now I can really say that all of my favorite bands are on
Matador.
(allow me to pause here to do a not-so-understated dance of joy)
Thank you thank you thank you for snapping them up.
So does this mean that maybe oh maybe they will tour here and that just
maybe oh maybe they will grant interviews to university newspapers?
The news of B&S signing with Matador has incited great excitement among
the band's stateside fans. Hopefully we will all be able to convene and
do one of those not-so-understated dances of joy all together...in the
audience...during one of their concerts...hopefully...
I can't wait for the release of the new album! Especially now that I
won't have to wile away the hours hunting it down here, and won't need
to have someone buy it for me in England and send it to me.
Take care,
Amanda
