Re: Sinister: among the rubble I notice a comment on nader.......
Apparently I missed the beginnings of a good round of spats over our near and dear Ralph Nader. I don't know exactly whats been said, but from reading Knightowl's last post it appears someone took Ralph to task for being, among other things, a really unsightful adjective. Too bad. Personally, if you're young and not a member of the rich or ruling elite, I don't see how Nader's message can't resonate but maybe thats just me. Apparently, the reduction of government to basic logical principles (and the desire to make corporations responsible for their actions) seems to be so revolutionary and unheard of to other politicians and the masses, that he's already being treated as the election's requisite "loose cannon", and as Steven Kado pointed out, he and Pat Buchanan will most likely not be allowed to participate in the debates this fall (sponsored by Annheiseur-Busch, in all seriousness). I think even the staunchest of Green Party supporters will admit that Nader has virtually no shot of winning this election, but their goal is not the White House but rather to bring various issues into the public arena and to make people cognizant of whats REALLY going on in DC. How wrong is that? Just ask the GOP and DNC, both of whom are shitting three bricks a peice to keep him in the dark. If anyone feels so inclined, Nader's website is http://www.votenader.com....go see what all the fuss is about. Has anyone ever noticed that TBWTAS (the song) sounds like a pussy-fied cover of the Doors "Roadhouse"? It even has the exact same organ lick pulsing through the entire song. Its not in the same key or anything, but its still uncanny. My band Callow will be on a compilation thats been put together by Sinister's own Steve Genge and Amanda Bergman-Genge. The Lucksmiths and Clock Strikes Thirteen are also on there, so I hope you'll check it out sometime this winter. Well, I hope everyone's summer is still going well...men's basketball season is right around the corner, and Mrs. Llew can look forward to 6 whole months of beat-downs. Word up... And this gets at why American politics is in such an undemocratic shambles. While the democrats (and the media) will allow the republicans to define Monica Lewinsky's blow job as a topic of serious debate, they will not extend policy debate to the areas Nader wants to bring forward. Thus, you are left with a "lesser of evils" scenario, and lord have mercy on ya if you think thats George W. Truly a sinister state of affairs........
