Cheers for the mail out David and Katrina. However, Sarah's contribution has now really put me off writing to the band, as from the sounds of it they all sit round and take the piss out of everyone's letters !!!! Is it only me who thinks that Stuart Murdoch is singing Le Pastie de La Borgeoisie in the 'club style'. Overseas readers you won't get that one, so don't worry. Lastly. Is Stuart Murdoch gay? Just being curious thats all, nothing funny, but is he? susannah@tormentor.clara.net ----------------------------------------------------------------------- . Most of the time he sounds quite miserable, but there is the odd outbreak of gaiety from time to time. Boom boom!! The last time the subject of Mister Murdoch's sexual orientation came up on the list, everybody seemed to end up agreeing on some bizarre theory that nowadays people are fairly unconcerned about defining their sexuality. Duke came up with something vaguely similar a few days ago about the decline of the family (correct me if I'm wrong). Some of the songs appear to be from a homosexual point of view, but personally I only think that's there if you want it to be there. In my opinion Stuart falls somewhere between the two extremes of Lemmy and Liberace. He is probably AC/DC, or at least Thin Lizzy. Boom boom!! again. The only way to really answer this question is to spring a "love trap" on him, and see if he goes for the girl or the boy, or both. I'm too far away to take part in this intriguing investigation, so someone else will have to take on the responsibility. Or we could just ask Katrina... Well funny you say that. Someone else on the list (pen name ce ce peniston) is privately begging me to set up a Sinister Blind Date with me in the role of Cilla. So if anyone wants to send in their details, height, weight, likes/dislikes and favourite foods, I will set up an agency and match you all up. Oh and you better add details of your sexuality. ce ce gets first refusal as he (sorry Chris) asked first. I'm banking on the two list people who "met" - where was it, in a library or bookshop? Who's going to buy me a hat for the wedding? Obviously I'll wipe this message from the archive so Stooey doesn't cotton on. Oh, better add something of vague relevance: to all the people asking about the competition: it isn't forgotten honestly! All the entries are on the Fan Club pages and most of the judges have returned their verdicts. P ----------------------------------------------------------------------- . Oh, GO ON THEN , I will (can't you just sense the reluctance). But, I know what you are saying about merging sexuality these days. I mean, strictly i fancy men, but ever so often a girl comes along and I just think WOW, only its in a very romantic kind of way, and i don't actually feel sexual towards women. However I do really go for boys that look like girls, and the more they look like girls the better. I think that females are the most physically attractive of the sexes by far, and the closer men get to that, the more I am attracted to them, but the whole sex thing with a women, I just don't think I could do, Occasionally I kiss my flatmate (who is very beautiful) but thats as far as it goes. susannah. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- . we should be careful with this thread, someone may be tapping in the words deviant sexuality in alta vista and pulling up the sinister archives :) stuart's straight, or at least he is at the mo', i think he's more mad and disturbed genius than melting pot of sexuality though. as for personal swayings, well i've shifted sand so many times i'm surprised i've not just given up and made some money in the process. i once did a dare with someone to see how many people we could kiss and the only way to win when we ran out of girls was to start kissing the boys. i don't really look at boys or girls and view them as attractive or unattractive, they either inspire and excite me or they bore me to tears. all of the experimentation is past now i'm with katrina, but i still remember the years working out which way i should be facing and wearing velour hats into heathrow airport to work. david (suddenly feeling like i've said too much) -- ******************************************************************** http://www.totalweb.co.uk/bluesoda/ mailto:bluesoda@totalweb.co.uk ******************************************************************** ----------------------------------------------------------------------- . I prefer to think of him as a genius of mad and disturbed sexuality.

Oh blimey, everyone's gone all confessional on me. It's funny how we seem to be capable of discussing fairly personal things with people who are, let's face it, virtual strangers. I'm not complaining, it's just funny. Sorry, I've always been so boringly sure of my inclinations, even when it seemed that everyone around me was rushing out of the closet, with a wink and a 'Tag's next'. It never happened, Nastassja Kinski always beat Alain Delon (not literally, of course, though that's a fascinating thought). At the end of the day, facial stubble just doesn't float my boat. David, are you really being honest when you say you never think about attractive/unattractive? It's a very nice thought, but I'd be lying if I said looks weren't important (at least to begin with. The great thing is how unpredictable everyone's taste is (myself included). You know those sprawling late-night converstions when you discuss 'your type' and next week you meet someone who just doesn't conform to it at all. One interesting thing is how girls have no problem saying that another girl is lovely, while boys will skirt the issue. I'm speaking very generally of course, but it's kind of sad. I remember when I was at school doing one of those 'socio-personal studies' in the 6th form, and talking about homosexuality, and the teacher asking everyone what they thought about it, and being called a poof for ages afterwards cos I just shrugged my shoulders and said it was no big deal. I hope that didn't sound like 'oh I'm so liberated', it was just a story. Just like my strange evening in a bar in Berlin called Cafe Anal (!). At least one person on the list knows this story) but for the rest of you - hey! that's for another time. Velour hats though....is that a giveaway? I never knew that. Like 'oh he's got his right ear pierced, he's...(nudge, nudge)...you know' when you were at school). Blahdeblahdeblah.... nowadays i wouldn't wear a velour hat either.mine was pink and caused a lot of commotion, i was a lonely suede fan that'd not bought a music paper and hadn't known what i should look like, the hat was picked up at a market stall in glastonbury or glas' as the snobs try and call it. i lost it a year later watching primal scream in the rain. david kitchen -- ******************************************************************** http://www.totalweb.co.uk/bluesoda/ mailto:bluesoda@totalweb.co.uk ******************************************************************** ----------------------------------------------------------------------- . susannah's message got me thinking. i also agree that sexual orientation is getting pretty flexible. in fact, i have a friend who did his doctoral thesis proving that orientation and even gender are politically and socially imposed. i'm not sure how far i can take that idea, but it's interesting. i think my admiration of women is perhaps based on artistic appreciation. i can find a girl really attractive (i too, kiss my very beautiful roommate,) but i can't muster up quite the same fluttery/sexual feelings. i find the female form really beautiful as well, and i have to completely agree about men looking like women. there's something very sensual about it. just my 2 cents, laurel ----------------------------------------------------------------------- .
