Sinister: fresh out of the nursery

I also like elliott smith, yo la tengo, magnetic fields, tori amos, kate bush, quasi, abba, and others. Does anyone remember or know if Looper is playing a show in NYC? I thought I read a post about it a while ago, and I would really like to go. Anways, if anyone knows please drop me a line. Hi. I'm mailing because of the coach trip I just had from London to Manchester. It was uneventful (for a night coach) and I had two seats to spread out on (not because of any pretending to be asleep shenanigans, either) until Birmingham. A striking girl got on and asked me if she could sit down. As usual I was commpletely silent and I just picked up the shirt that was on the chair to clear it into my "area". As I was by now quite tired (2.30 in the morning...) I turned of the reading light and leant against the window. I felt a little guilty for not talking to her, but on the otehr hand, there was no way I could start a conversation... I awoke before I realised I had slept it (over an hour later) to find her resting her head on my shoulder. She must have been woken by the same thing as me because she quickly sat upright. I still couldn't talk to her, despite the fact that the stiff way she was sitting, was making me unconfortable. And the fact I actually quite liked her resting her head on my shoulder. We spend the next two hours with our eyes closed (mostly) prettending to be asleep (I'm pretty sure she didn't drift off again). Why is it that neither of us could break the silence (everyone else on the coach seemed asleep) or even acknowledge the others presence? Anyway it wasn't until the end, neither of us broke the silence yet, but our shoulders touched, neither of us actually leaned on the other. I spent the rest of the journey thinking about what I should say. But obvouisly I didn't say it. Everytime I look back on these moments in my life, which could be considered missed oportunities (I can happiely admit to fantasiesing about how she was the perfect woman... and maybe she was.) I think, "Next time I'm going to walk up to that girl and..." it'll never happen. I'm sorry to say I haven't really been keeping up with sinister recently (for the last two months, kind of recently) Just dipping in occasionally and getting sumations from Paul A. I take it the new looper single has been discused and disected. Well just to add my 2p, Looper are GRATE (my first use of this word to the sinister populace) and the single is pretty damn good. Its no album track, if you see what I mean (IfYouSWIM). And on the subject of singles, doesn't the Belle and Sebastian single sound like the "eurotrash" theme music? Next time you hear it, pretend you are Antwon DeCone (sorry for the terrible spelling, to think I've got a french passport!) and hum along. Sorry to anyone outside England if you want to know what "eurotrash" is goto: http://194.129.77.60/listings/summary.cfm?program_id=703632 That should work... Basically it's an excuse to get breasts (of often ridiculus size) and arses (...) on to TV. By having european pornstars and bizzarre artists and performers... All the interveiws are dubbed in english, with local english accents added. It can be funny... Anyway Thats were the idea for B&S's latest single came from... No really, this guy in the pub told me... sorry... Not reading sinister is part of my new lazyness drive. That would also explain why I said I wanted to host the sinister-ville cinema and have done almost nothing for it since I started it... And why I haven't replyed to people who mailed me (I've saved them and I will get round to replying, you will have forgotten who I am, but anyway...). I'm just back from the pictures and the film was GRATE: "Boys don't cry"... In two words: "I did"... well almost. Like everyone before me I'm sorry my mail is so long, but not sorry enough to delete bits. (I doubt anyone will have made it this far anyway) Louis -- The Pretenders played a gig at Liverpool Uni. Sorry I forgot a couple of things... Firstly they are hovering in the computer cluster and I'm starting to get a headache. Secondly, do you think that if everytime I am atracted to a complete stranger I mail sinister about it, one day I'll get a reply from the person? How long will it take? It must be said at the moment I'm feeling more lonely than sinister... (God, that sounds whiney, sorry... didn't get much sleep last night... coaches and all that)... Anyway bye again.
