Hello again, wonderful kids !! Back at home from my holidays, with two exams before me, but it doesnŽt matter now. As youŽll have noticed, my subject line is taken from a Ninotchka song. DoesnŽt anyone know more releases from them, besides the 7" that Elefant released here ? "I`ve got wings" is helping me to handle my boring life, and "Green dream (Good night Scott Walker)" is also a won derful song. IŽd love to know if Grimsey Records released some Cd of them... The first thing that I know after my holidays is that the new album will be released in january, according to nme.com. But ItŽs more surprising the idea of B&S doing some kind of homage to "All you need is love". Does anyone know at l east some of the people that helped to record those song ? ThereŽs also new pictures at the sinister page, something that remind me to scan the one that I have with Arantxa, Robin and Olga. Maybe itŽs a bit late, but iŽll send it as soon to you, Nottingham people. On the second weekend of august I went to the Benicassim festival near here, and it was nice to see some B&S shirts amongst the crowd. One of them (study at Stow) belonged to Mireia, a sinisterite who I think that is still quiet in this community. Another one (a sinister one) belon ged to a basque guy with the bald head (Mr.Mill er, do you know him ?), and another one to Jesus Llorente (Well, I think it was him), the boss of the lovely Acuarela records, the label of Migala. The best bits of the festival were the gigs from Cinerama (David Gedge and Sally signed my copy of the 7" that Elefant records released recently), The Delgados, Jon Spencer and HEFN ER !! Darren is a star, absolutely. They made a competition between them to find out who makes the best rock poses, and the bass player won. The lowest points were the cancellation of the Manics and the apathetic gig from Blur. I know that only a few people will know what Im talking about, but the lovely spanish band El Niño Gusano (The worm boy) have split up. Besides the spanish guys, didnŽt anyone knew them ? they were quite similar to GorkyŽs Zigotic Mynci (and good friends also). Maybe someone answered it before, but Luna also covered "EverybodyŽs talking" at their live shows, and it was also released in a compilation that their record company released in Spain. An important question: I know itŽs quite early, but are there any plans of having another Bowlie in April ? IŽm planning to go to London, and IŽd like to know if there is the chance of having another fabulous weekend like the one that I spent there. I think that thereŽs nothing left to say. Antje, your tape will be out in two or three days, just when iŽll have finished my firsti exams. ===================================== ============= Jordiet Sinistre ================================================== Tu E-Mail Gratis en http://www.mixmail.com +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the reborn Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister@majordomo.net". Almost 9 months since the last time I wrote. I'm up to nothing much of nothing. That's not true. But Jordi...There is a Ninotchka song on the somewhat recently released Head In the Clouds CD compilation on Dreamy. It's only a minute and a half long but its a nice one and a half minutes. The rest the cd is amazing, especially the wonderful Arco and Graham and Farina and Jacques featuring Kirk Lake and on and on. Recommended to one and all, no matter if you think Boyzone is POP or Abba-Cromwell and Finchley or whatever. For me personally its this girl in this band named Len, who sings something about 'you can steal my sunshine' I just think she's just the cutest. In my dreams she is from Jersey or Virginia Beach or something and she doesn't hang out with snowboarders but is obsessed with boys who watch baseball and listen to the Pale Fountains.(For the record the above mentioned CD compilation sounds nothing like I've just described.) And another thing. Why does it take my sister calling from California to tell me that Richard Colburn is to appear at the Knitting Factory with some band or another during CMJ in New York City? Has Sinister been kicked off the Jeepster mailing list? I wanted my return to Sinister to be special... I'm afraid its nothing of the sort. Oh yeah...nevermind, I'll save it for next time.
