has anyone read any Isabelle Allende? as she's due to release a book about the indistinguishable line between the eroticism of good food and sexuality, and i'd quite like to know what her past books are like and am too lazy to read.
Can't help there. But have you seen Tampopo?
isabel allende is a chilean author. her uncle was actually actually the president of chile at some point, which i believe has something to do with the fact that she lives in exile in california. her books are full of magical realism and contain some pretty good human insight too. i'd recommend reading anything that she has written. if you're into food and sexuality, you really must read like water for choclate by laura esquivel (i believe that's her name, i don't have the book with me). the two overlap perfectly, with the heroine being born in the kitchen, crying from the onions, and it just goes on from there. and of course, there's always the seinfeld episode where george tries to convince his girlfriend to let him eat during sex. ;) xox megan mkl206@is8.nyu.edu visit the magnetic fields web page at: http://www.dissemination.com/megan/magneticfields/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- .
