Cats; Good weekend? I had a blinder, my Manc friend Daniel came to visit, and we saw 'Jeffrey Bernard Is Unwell' on Saturday night, and Yo La Tengo last night in London. Were any other Sinisterines there? I looked for uppy-downy badges but saw none. It was a wicked concert, apart from when Dan and I (grammar) nipped out to get a sandwich, but noticed a sign outside a Firkin pub advertising half-price Dogbolter (non-UK listees - this is a very strong, yet disgusting-tasting beer). Never ones to let an opportunity like this slip by, we nipped in for just the one, and managed to miss Mark Eitzel. And Jega. Bollocks. We did see The Wisdom Of Harry, and, indeed Yo La Tengo. I spoke briefly with Yo La Tengo's bass player about the bassline to Autumn Sweater, and apparantly he played it with his legs. I think that's what he said anyway. Oh, about that 'using booze as an excuse' thing. I think that a lot of people do this, but I try not to. It's not like drink makes us into completely different people, is it? We may be a bit larier or whatever, but I'm still Will whether I'm drunk, hungover, or....whatever other state of being there is. I can't remember. I think booze just strips away layers of people, gets to 'the real person' almost, by getting rid of all of our social nicities. This can be a bad thing, but it's most often a good thing. I don't know how coherent that is. I'm going for a lie down.
