right right. so i'm listening to the lucksmiths' "staring at the sky," which i keep taking off my turntable in an effort to give my other records equal attention, but which i keep putting back on because it's fucking Addicting, and i'm thinking that "smokers in love" has such a cute little chorus -- "la la la la la la smokers in loo-ove" -- but the rest of the song is so damn Depressing. ay. we had a party last night, and maybe some of you remember my advice (spawned from a new year's party) to keep away from the kid with the polaroid camera... well, i should take my own advice, but something about having an entire bottle of tropico (rum + juice stuff) to myself made me actually Seek Out the Camera. unfortunately for me, there was also a video camera sneaking around, and there is just something about wearing pants (trousers) under yr skirt that gives you the urge to lift up yr skirt for everyone, including said camera. oh the party comes back to me in little snippets -- dancing on a chair to the jackson 5... tango-ing with miss KIMberly to st. etienne, me trying to kiss my ex-boy while he ever-so-gently protested... um, that little lifting-up-the-skirt thing... oh dear. heh heh... i just had a great image of Trousers under un-suspecting girls' skirts. magnetic megan, whose tirades are definitely more endearing than bitchy (maybe it's those darn cute red sneakers that i remember from the NYC Frolic in the Cloisters), spoke words of wisdom with the following:

i don't really know any of those in real life. i just thought that was worth pointing out. um... PE stories... none of the girls in my class wanted to play sports really. well, there was that one girl who was a softball whiz, and really tall and good at basketball, but for the most part we all sat around spending more energy on avoiding playing than it would have taken to actually just suck it up and Try to kick the stupid ball. but when we did actually have to pick teams, i was last. out of the, you know, Five girls in our little catholic school class. i'm not traumatized. i was alternately meek and wicked in gym -- ducking for cover during dodgeball but wielding a hockey stick like a warrior in field hockey. B&S content: 1) box set = nice idea. i bought all of my ep's except 3.6.9 while in london, so i didn't have to shell out import prices. but lots of folks Do, so... i think it's a good thing. plus if jeepstah are offering the empty box for which to put yr already-bought ep's in, what's to complain about?? 2) box sex = even better 3) fucking hell, release the fucking new album already. genevieve wrote:
