Sinister: something i can relate to
finally someone mentioned a show i know: i was addicted to Mathnet segments for a while. and was it fraggle rock with those underground muppets? i think it was. scarrie little suckers. ok well, it's really too early and i'm falling back asleep and i have work in an hour. *sigh* everyone have a wonderous day never the less - a n g e l a oh yeah - finally heard something by nick drake (sort of). it was mingled in between sounds of techno, but i persevered and played my cd over the other one being played in a computer lab anyway, straining to heard what i've been missing for so long. so what do you recommend a novice nick drake fan starting off with? email me personally unless the list wants to be innundated with titles they alreadt own - g r a c i a s p o r l a ' l u v ' ----------------------------------------------------------------------- . Hello there, I was reading that bit about Miss Johansson's love of such and such trumpet part in Beautiful, and I got to thinking. You all know very well that B&S has a lovely set of instrumentation. I guess that's one of the benefits of being an octet (or were they more numerous at last count?). It occurs to me, though, that there are still some instruments that haven't been featured in B&S songs that ought to. Sure, we've heard cello, violin, trumpet, electric organs, harmonicas, pianos, but there are some other possibilities. What about an accordian? I recently saw a musical performance by a trio of accordianists called the Three Accordians of the Apocalypse. This has led me to understand that an accordian can be quite a sad instrument, if used correctly. I would hope they wouldn't use it a happy manner, because that just wouldn't seem to fit them. Am I the only one who's ever wanted a P!O!P band to use steel drums to some effect? That would be pretty nice. Maybe a steel drum solo or something. Anyhow, can anyone else come up with some other possibilities? Clarinet? Hm, there's another one... /"\_/"\_/"\ Mick McMick - mick@indiepop.com - ICQ#5056758 \ / Sandcastle Records - sandcastlerecords@indiepop.com | | Sandcastle Homepage - http://indiepop.com/sandcastle/ | | | | "Everyone has their own cup of tea. | | Some just happen to like a lot of sugar in it!" | | - Me! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- . i tried to offer my 3 years of high-school clarinet experience to the band ... they said no obviously. it's not that i'm a bad clarinetist or anything though ... (oi, david ... shush!)
