It brightens my day too, quite good therapy.Certainly better
than Steve Wright, although it's a shame we don't get to
hear his sarcastic comments about Belle and Sebastian. I
clearly remember them all taking the piss out of Denim,
obviously totally dumbfounded by it. My brother's a bit like
that, laughs at everything he doesn't understand (which is
most things).
The Popcorn question was prompted by a Cd of seventies
goodies, including Candlewick Green, that I saw the other
day. Might well snap it up. Good for the soul.
Apart from being a bored at work club, the list also serves
as a coming to terms with growing up in the seventies club.
There was a great German documentary about the seventies on
TV a while back. Great stuff, Mud on TOTP dancing with a
load of fans on stage, all doing that hands on your hips
dance, as featured in the Pulp video for Common People,
combined with some very heavy stuff about German terrorists.

That's neat, that's neat, that's neat, that's neat......

Peter
who used to go to school with the son of Malcolm "Duke"
Allured (of Showaddywaddy fame)'s son, who was a real new
romantic, used to take a huge ghetto blaster to school and
listen to Duran Duran doing his homework. He later starred
in a Channel Four documentary called "The Sex Hunters" about
a group of campsite disco bouncers who tried to get off with
all the girls. They kept score with a little Scalextric
track. Did anybody see it? Is our Duke related to this Duke?
He owns two or three crap pubs and North West
Leicestershire's finest rural discotheque. Aaah, great days,
great days. Best forgotten, I think. At that time Stephen
Duffy was called Tintin, and everybody loved him. Belle and
Sebastian have got as many members as Showaddywaddy, but
no-one called Caesar Romeo.

Have I got away with it?
