Well she certainly is a well known one... never really investigated any
of her books at the pre-teen stage and now it's a bit late, but she
certainly is a figure of some kind!

Then again, I was the sort of pre-teen who preferred Mervyn Peake...

All of which literary discussion reminds me- has anyone else ever come
back to a book they read in their youth and seen things they didn't
understand when they read it, so didn't remember were in there? I dug
out an old collection of Irish stories from way-back-when once, and was
somewhat shocked to find it had sex scenes that had gone straight over
my head when I was little :)
