hi everyone!
stephen trousers, thanks much for that monday poem, it was one of the few
highlights of a monday work disaster which had us working straight through
from 8:30 monday morning till midnight tuesday! a nice moment came along
about 2am-- except for the cd player it was creepily quiet in the office
like it is in offices in the middle of the night, if you're feeling
sinister was in the player and during stars of track and field 6 people
typing manically in separate cubes broke the silence at the very same
moment and sang the chorus!
with no real sleep for days and no dreams to cloud up the works, the events
of last weekend up to and including a car accident on sunday afternoon are
still fresh in my fatigued brain and a thing happened friday night that's
been topical on the list as of late...it was after midnight and megan and I
were staggering down P st. in the direction of the fox and hounds for some
more spring refreshment (thanks to andy fox it's the only dive in town with
belle and sebastian in the jukebox, go andy!). it was a warm, breezy night,
plenty of people out and about, but the closest people walking were pretty
far ahead and behind us...timing must be our gift because we noticed a car
pulled over to the curb, the car was running, with no one in the driver's
seat, and as we walked by the car the door flew open and this guy in the
passenger seat wearing a maniacal grin but no pants was furiously wrestling
the champion in our general direction! a few hours later in megan's car on
U st., hurtling toward the all-night drive-thru to our favorite scottish
place we asked ourselves, selves, should we post about this to the list? at
that moment, swear to god, cliff richard came on the radio.
but I'm not writing to tell of the mad whack, I'm really just passing on a
message from my friend gail who lives in new york, we did a zine together
for a few years and I got busy/lazy and quit doing it, but she's still
doing it godblessher, it's called chickfactor and the newest one has
interviews with our favorite gals sarah and isobel! gail asked me to give
you all the address in case you want to order it. this issue also has
interviews with momus, spring, the divine comedy, jeffrey honeybunch,
future bible heroes, martin phillips, a high llamas jukebox jury, and more
stuff I'm certainly forgetting. you can get it for $4 u.s. and $6 overseas,
that includes postage, to

miami-beach-filled jeans cuffs. tag, I've got going-to-sweden envy. and

jasmine minks this weekend!!
