Sinister: Kostars

what's people's take on bands like the Kostars?
definitely not lyrically like b&s, but what is
the (not so) subtle difference that splits them?  
i could classify all the exact characteristics, but 
i'm wondering if there is an "essence" that defines
b&s vs. other clever, folksy-ecletic, alternapop.

maybe it's just the cardigans and general artsy
knowledge that's pervasive.

another q - vespas.  what's the connection?  don't
blame it on some cultural syzygy of 1978 rome 
and 1998 uk either...  

and why am i loathe to use the expression 'deja' vu'?
isn't there some other way to describe the feeling?
