Sinister: Shameless plug, and shameful pun

As usual I've only just managed to dig myself out of a swampload of
digests, so I've completely missed the tail end of the CS Lewis thread,
which is where this belongs really.

Anyway, all I really wanted to do was to shamelessly plug my website
<http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~xav>, on account of it containing several
short stories and a complete novel. What's that to do with anything? Well,
the novel has been described (and not by me, I hasten to add), as a cross
between CS Lewis, Tolkein and Umberto Eco.

My own preferred description has it between Tolkein and Pratchett - more
humour than the former, but with more of a plot line than the latter. The
first few chapters are a bit pants, and I'll probably re-write them one
day, but it picks up quite quickly and becomes a rivetting read - even if I
do say so myself. Of course, I'm not as sad as Doestoevky and not as clever
as Mark Twain. There's quotes from other people who have read it on my
pages if you don't believe me. Oh yeah, it's about 200,000 words long,
which works out at just over a ream when printed on one side of A4 using
the default Courier font built intointo the laser printer here at work. Not
that I'm condoning such a misuse of company resources, oh no...

On other matters: I'm a left handed very-amateur musician. Style somewhere
between Black Lace, The Wurzels, and my 6 year old nephew on the saucepans.
Kind of.

Lastly I'll just add my comments about Pish Is Just A Modern Rock Song
(PIJAMRS): it's fabbo! I can't stop humming the title track (I've not got
any of the sessions, so this was the first time I'd heard it). I'm not too
keen on the gate - though I did like IIWNTC, so I'm not anti-Isobel (though
I would like to hold something against her <- smut content). Perhaps it'll
grow on me.

<GEEK JOKE ALERT! GEEK JOKE ALERT!>
And as for Slow Graffiti - who'd of thought that anyone would ever write a
song about the trials and tribulations of taking notes on a Palm Pilot.
<WASN'T WORTH IT, WAS IT?>
