Though I realize this was done in good spirit, and I know that this stuff
should be left to Honey, I just feel a need to confront a few things in Reid
Dossinger's post:

I'm not trying to lecture you, but I think you're being a little over
sensitive.  The only recent reference I saw to anything like the above was a
slight mention to Winston-Salem, NC being called an "armpit" of the state (I
think that was it).  It appeared to be nothing more than just a little jest at
a state, hardly venimous or vitriolic. I doubt we'll see any multi-paged posts
from the person on the agonizing pain that is everyday life in Winston-Salem,
or anything like that.  This really is the kind of thing that most people
would just say "ho hum" to.  Unless someone is doing this to *try* to actually
insult you, I can't really see a reason to get all bothered about it.

I know this list is different than most lists I'm on, in that it has an
"enforcing" moderator, but I still have never liked one listee telling another
one what "must be done."  I think it much better to phrase such statements in
the form of a suggestion.

In regards to the actual 3 suggestions, I'd have to say that you should've
modelled your first two on the third (well, the 1st one is almost there),
which points out the importance of constructive criticism...no "you suck!"
posts, or anything in that simple vein.  I, personally, don't have anything
wrong with someone voicing an opinion on a label, listee, song, group, etc.
just as long as it's done with a general sense of constructiveness.  To tell
someone to stop " ragging on anyone on this list, especially the ones who have
been nothing but happy bunnies, like we're all *supposed* to be" is just
almost as bad as a "you suck" or "shut up" post, IMO.  I think you know that
we don't all have to be "happy bunnies," but even a such a, err, rodent can be
open to criticism.
