Someone else who actually liked a Heavy Stereo song. My God, I didn't
think there was *another*!
Sleep Freak was a *great* single, with one of the most searing, downright
LOUD guitar openings I've ever heard. A stomp along rock n roll classic
which, sadly, hardly anyone bought. Mind, it was their biggest "hit" as
it got to No.42.
Smiler was the second single and was blinding, too. Sadly it all went
bent awry with the album: a mess, and SF and Smiler were not on it
either. And then Creation dropped them and that, I guess, was that.
Oh, and if you hate Oasis you'll possibly hate Heavy Stereo even more.
Sorry.
Just out of interest, does *anyone* else who really likes B&S like Oasis.
Oasis was the first band I really loved, not for the laddish shtick but
because I thought they had the best tunes I'd ever heard and Live Forever
sent a shiver down my spine that I didn't get again until I heard You
Made Me Forget My Dreams, Put The Book Back On The Shelf, Photo Jenny,
Fox in the Snow etc. etc. I mean, I know Oasis should be everything that
a sterotypical B&S fan should hate but I don't care; I think I've been as
hung up on what's "cool" and what's not for too long; probably a result
of too much exposure to NME and MM.
Just thought I'd get that off my chest,
All the best,
Jon
