Tee hee. I'll come clean. I only subscribe to this list in order to read all
the inadvertently posted private correspondence. Where else a nosy parker get
such easy kicks outside of a telephone exchange? I don't care at all about
this Belle & Sebastian pair you all go on about.

hmmm...reminds me....hmmm...checks archive......

I laughed longer, louder and put your laughter to shame when a long time ago
Charlotte posted this as her response to the mini-autobiography thread:

>I am 48 years old. I studied limb management and I used to be a ballerina but
now I'm a faith healer. I spend my leisure >time sketching people's necks in
public parks. I married a stonemason from Cumberland and now I have five sets
of twins. I >have fourteen copies of Tigermilk. I've never listened to them.
Is this the Gary Glitter list?

Where is Charlotte these days? She was an asset to the list. Wasn't it her
who, bored with a rut the list had got into, posted her top Belle & Sebastian
Moments to remind us all why we are here? And everyone joined in with their
own ones (like, the way Stuart Murdoch's voice cracks on the line "She was not
impressed" in 'The State I Am In') and it made me all glowy. Perhaps we could
do this again. It would also be a good way of drawing in the newer listees.
Tell us why Belle & Sebastian are best. And stick on a mini-autobiography if
you like, fictional or otherwise.

This isn't strictly a Belle & Sebastian moment; it's a Stuart David/Chris
Geddes moment. But it made my heart break all the same. So nerrr. It's from
the Ink Polaroids book:

"Here's Chris outside the studio, on the night we finished the first album.
It's quite dark, but you can still see the marks on his face the tears have
left from when he was crying inside.
I asked him why he'd been crying and he just said, 'Because I've never done
anything proper before. But I don't know if that means my life's been really
shit up to this point, or if this was just really good.'"
