Don't you just love Valentine's day? Half the country being soppy and
playing tonsil tennis in public, and the rest of us getting depressed
about the distinct lack of post we got this morning :-(. Still, I had a
good night last night ;-) so that just about makes up for it...


To pick up Sarah's points:
Those of you who aren't from Britain might not know that the government
have decided to try and make us pay to go to university in the future. And
basically nothing is being done to stop them. The national students' union
are a complete joke, because they're all only there to try and get jobs as
Labour MPs in a few years time, so they daren't oppose the Labour
government. Our university student union president has been forced to not
stand for election for a national post, purely because she opposes fees
and isn't a member of the Labour party. The thing is, people only voted
for the Labour party at the election because they thought they'd be better
than the Conservatives; and they've turned out to be just as shit, if not
worse. The sooner Tony Blair goes and we get a socialist leader the
better.

Right, enough ranting, I don't want to do a Northy. I'm sure all of you
are intelligent enough to see what we're fighting against.


As for Chumbawumba, I don't think anyone takes their 'anarchist' politics
seriously. Their idea of anarchy at the moment seems to be getting signed
to EMI, and making shitloads of money out of "Tubthumping", and then
keeping it all for themselves. However, it was highly amusing when the
singer emptied an ice bucket over the deputy Prime Minister's head on
Monday...
