Sinister: Manic

I've been following the Not So Manic Now debate, and I really don't think
that the Brick Supply original is up to much. It's a bit like that
Scandinavian Torn.

I had the dubious honour of hanging out with Sarah Dubstar in Newcastle
during the year when they were making the first album - she shared a flat
with some friends of mine in the next street. She was an absolute gem, and
it just makes me a bit sad to see what's happened to them now. It's so
strange to see someone so totally unsuited to pop stardom thrust into the
limelight for everyone to stare at. (I know she chose to do it, so it's her
fault.) B&S's refusal to be buggered around by the industry is such a good
thing, even if it only teaches a few future stars that you don't have to
play by the rules to succeed.

Does anyone else know of any pop stars who really would be better off doing
something else instead?

Celine Dion is one that springs to mind...

Lots of Love,

DAVID
