I'm quite sure Elliott Smith is playing at the Oscars - there were a few 
things mentioned in Allstar about it last week.  I also read something 
along the lines that it would be really sad if they have a dance act to go 
along with his performance like they usually do for the other artists and I 
have to agree - I don't think I could watch that after seeing him play a 
tiny venue last year before all the Good Will Hunting hype.
There's a few Elliott Smith websites as well as a mailing list and I'm sure 
they have all the infomation there.

  I bet I'll get slayed for not thinking about this for ten seconds, but 
my answer, simply, is that I do not know.  Anyone?  Anyone?  I hope he 
gets the grammy instead of Celine Dion or Michael Bolton or whoever else 
makes the bad soundtrack songs played in in the dining hall on Magic 
105.3, continuous souft hits.  come on, we're trying to eat!!
