Bum deal? No. Yum deal, yes. Allow me to explain.
A few months back, I posted an inquiry to the list, asking if anyone had
any B&S memorabilia that would make for suitable wall decor. In true list
fashion, an immediate offer of a leftover Enclave poster (from someone
whose name escapes me at the moment; she worked for EMI) came through and
in a matter of days I found myself the owner of THREE count 'em THREE
_IYFS_/Scotland gig posters that they'd had lying around since the Enclave
went bust. Big red ones. Ask and ye shall receive, I suppose. Anyhoo, I
kept one for myself, gave another one to my good pal and fellow B&S fanatic
Ned (who first introduced me to their music, so I felt like it was the
least I could do in return), and saved the third one to give to lucky
Matthew to commemorate our in-person meeting over the holiday. You know, in
the spirit of giving and all. I wasn't really looking to get anything
specific in return, but I had mentioned a fondess for Cadbury's chocolate
at some point in our email correspondence and so he gifted me with some
when we met up in December. It was lovely, really. And on the pet/poster
tangent: when I was at home, with the aforementioned poster rolled up and
ready to give to Matthew, my cats also took a liking to it, pouncing and
batting it around with (thankfully) declawed paws.Perhaps there might be
some kind of feline/B&S connection, since many of us listees have
cats...hmmm...
So, that's that. And now it's back to the old Spanish books for me...
ta,
Amanda
(whose offer to tape Tigermilk still stands for stateside listees)
