he used to be a respected Socialist Workers Party member and enthusiast, he
used to preach that the best way to prepare a society for revolution was to
subvert the impressionable youth with the aid of music, which was a pretty
bloody obvious statement eh?

of course in the years of thatcherism this was rebelliousness at it's height,
and as such the NME and it's sheep loved him for it.
