Sinister: a couple of things (female drummers, family trees)

um, female drummers. the first thing i have to say is that, in my
opinion, you're really wasting your time talking music to someone who
hasn't heard of the velvet underground. but if you want famous female
drummers then there's always karen carpenter...

(btw, there's more to moe tucker than the drums - she's had numerous
solo lps out. she's also not lou reed...)

and as for family trees then stuart m and chris g helped out on the
first arab strap peel session.

oh, and the stuart m contribution to the polar bear thing that katrina
mentioned last week is quite wonderful (and a bit rude!) in a mournful
kind of way. i stumbled across a copy in the oxford st virgin
megastore a few weeks ago. pick up the re-release if it's included.

way off topic)

um, i go away for a week and come back to find about half a dozen
interesting singles and lps have been released in the meantime.
typical. new mogwai promises to be good, as always. did anyone tape
last week's peel session or breezeblock performance btw? i'd like a
copy... the other releases are all kinda techno (apart from HNIA and
mojave 3) so i'm not even going to mention them here...

oh, and the last arab strap video was on alternative nation last night
on mtv (uk). it wasn't very good. alternative nation is probably the
only watchable 2 hours that mtv produce in a week. not that i've
really sat down and watched a lot of it but everytime i turn it on
it's either will smith or that young blonde kid (aaron carter?). i
guess it's only really reflected the rest of the world though, a world
where 95% of the music produced just doesn't appeal to me.

i met minnie mouse the other day. she's very short.
