And we've yet to mention Randy Newman's paean to the city, the chorus of
which goes "oooh Baltimore / It's horrible....". Good Randy Newman feature
in this month's Uncut magazine, incidentally.
On the topic of songs about American towns, I met somebody from Wichita last
night, and she'd never heard of "Wichita Lineman"! What are the chances of
that happening, eh?
