Sinister: List crushes - seeing other people (I wish)

Firstly, list crushes. I can't imagine that there's anyone out there who
doesn't have a soft spot for at least one person on this list, single,
taken or involved in a huge list orgy at some airport or other (that
seems to be where all the lucky so-and-sos who have got dates seem to be
going - and to think I've been going to alt.sex.groupsex.tweepop all
this time). Actually, that reminds me that the nicest toilets I've ever
seen were at Rome's Ciampino airport - they'd be an epic setting for a
bit of genuine, 1st century AD romping - all we need is Frankie Howerd.

I suggest, then, that we all publicly name one list crush. Whoever gets
the most votes gains the Droit de Seigneur and can arrange airport-based
dates with whosoever he or she fancies. Voting for HoneyPaul, though
obviously merited, should be discounted as Linda might get stroppy and
anyway, if we're all his children, things might all come over a bit
Greek Tragedy (are there any B&S songs that touch on incest? Not that
I'm interested or anything, oh no).

To kick things off, my vote goes to Nick Dastoor - my harassment
campaign will not cease until he sets his dad on me or something.

And onto Seeing Other People - I have yet to find anyone who agrees with
me, but I reckon that apart from the words, it's perhaps the weakest B&S
song by quite a long way. The melody just doesn't grab me, I think the
piano at the beginning is the wrong instrument, it just doesn't have,
for me, the magic that pervades pretty much every other song. Sorry.

Electronic Renaissance, however, COMPLETELY works for me. The drums are
just so, so great, and the chords between the arpeggioed beginning and
the main body of the song (the simple warm synth chord, which goes up a
perfect fourth (is that the right term?), and then does it once more, is
one of my very favourite B&S moments). It's certainly one of the tunes I
really look forward to hearing whenever it comes on (inevitably, if I'm
with someone in my car listening to Tigermilk, I'll say "oh God, this is
the greatest song ever!" 5 or 6 times as the album plays).

Sorry, rambling again.

A chastised Mark.
