Sinister: Re: morrissey

I'm with you, TFertig3. Morrissey gets on my nerves.
But I don't want to start any confrontations here. Actually, I have a
question about how people percieve the Smiths in retrospect. Who is
generally considered the genius behind that band? The singer/lyricist (a la
Sting, for lack of a better example) or the guitarist (a la John Squire)?
Because I, for one, think the lion's share of the credit should go to Jonny
Maar over Morrissey, and I was just wondering if their respective solo
careers is a reflection of how much credit fans give them for the Smiths'
stuff.
