Sinister: My god captain! He's de-lurking off the starboard bow...

Okay, so I've been on the list for... well, must be at least two days now,
and still just getting into the vibe of it all. Nice and relaxed; I like
that. And lots of rambling; I like that too. So I figured I'd ramble a bit
myself, prompted by the following:-

---- Quoty Bit ---
I noticed from the photo on the recent Jeepster mailout that Stewpot M
is left handed...I'm sure this explains a lot. Such as

---- Other quoty bit ---

> Why is Stuart M pretending to be left-handed? Does he want us all to
> think that he is in league with the DEVIL????

Hm...just guessing here. I don't remember much from my two years of
Latin. Don't blame me, it was...uh I'd say over 6 years ago. Anyway, the
latin word for left is Sinister, Sinistris. Raises some interesting

---- End of quoty bits ---

I wondered about any left-handed connection myself, given that I'm very,
very sinister, and a frequent poster to alt.lefthanders. Yes, the word
comes from Latin (those Roman bastards were highly anti-sinister; you
weren't even allowed to join their army if you were a lefty - and they
invented the right-handed handshake, and fascist salute).

Apart from that, I also can't remember much of my Latin, from 9 years ago
(except some song lyrics I wrote which slipped into the dead tongue -
"Caecilius in horto sedet//Et multo vino bibet//Et quarto canem videt...")
but i do know that very few languages, regardless of their roots, have
anything nice to say about lefties (e.g. French: "Gauche" meaning left, or
awkward!).

I'm even using left-handedness as the subject of my second novel (and yes,
the first one failed to get published (though I didn't actually try very
hard), so it's on my web pages if you want it, together with some short
stories. End of plug).

Whilst I'm rambling, a brief introduction: 25, male, stupidly long hair,
good looking to wildebeest, hoping to go to London for the gig but waiting
'til a friend of mine returns from the states to see if she wants to go
too, apart from her I know nobody round here (Bucks, UK) who's into B & S -
and I'm not even sure about her (but her foot was definitely tapping when I
blasted her with Me & The Major in the car)

Enough for now; I'll write again sometime when I feel I've got something to
say, but in the meantime I'll just disappear into the ethereal mists of
some ethereally misty place.

Ye gods! I'm more adept at rambling than I ever could have imagined!
