Sinister: b&s experts: help please

are the following bands any good:

trembling blue stars
suicide
tindersticks
go-betweens

i've seen some of them linked with belle and sebastian.  
my sister is departing for england this sunday....she's spending over a 
month there studying medieval art and architecture at oxford univ. by 
day and partying hardy by night....the bitch.  so please give me an 
answer soon because i'm making a list of music i want her to look for 
while she's there.  too lazy to order from my local record shops.
