Jon G (allow me to be the first with the birthday congrats, by the way) said

Jon, what you've failed to realise is that, before adolescence, all of
Adrian's friends were characters in comic books: he liked to look at the
pictures, but didn't understand the words. While pubescing, he moved on to a
new group of friends, all characters in television programmes.
When it came to finding a sexual partner, however, Adie returned to printed
matter.

He likes CDs because they're easier to wipe clean.
