Alrighty righty ... here goes:

1st question - who was the press relese from?  (Beatwax, Appearing,
Jeepster??)

The Dog On Wheels EP is NOT limited and there was talk of the vinyl 12"
being limited to 500 only when it was first released.  This hasn't
happened (god knows just how many there are in circulation) but the 5000
thing is basically meaningless.  Belle and Sebastian promos are also not
worth anything, as there are no differences between the promos and the
releases, except for the possibility of a "promo only" sticker over the
barcode on the back (along with a beatwax or appearing sticker).  when
sinister was promo'd, it was given out without the booklet and just
stickered "promo only" ... one mail-order retailer was asking £20 for
this "promo", and after telling him it wasn't any different and in fact
worth less than the actual release he withdrew it from sale.  Please
don't get sucked in to buying so called UK promo-releases as it will
just be the shops making money and you will miss out!

There are two rather interesting promos around though, one is a cover
mounted cd for the French magazine Les Inrockuptibles and the other an
Enclave promo cd containing a couple of their artists. That's all i know
of though, except for the different territory releases of sinister (UK,
USA, French and Japanese).
