what happened to the band 'the walkingseeds?'
they used to sound brilliant about nine years ago, then again at the time i
was obsessed with The Cult, trying to be a goth in a small town which meant
i became a fast runner and a good tree climber to escape the boy racers and
'casuals' who'd chase us through the park on friday night
Wow so there's such strong anti-car pro-public transport policies in the
Trudget my arse. What a watered down load of tosh. And everyone knows that
electric cars (better than the kitsch C5!) work dead well, going slowly in
them would encourage love of nature and respect of the environment cos you
could hear the sheep mooing and the grasshoppers yawning as you glided past,
your shiny little beetle-like contraption sounding like an electric turkey
in the morning air. but the oil companies and car manufacturers have this
stranglehold, everything's so short-term and profit orientated
EVERYTHING'S SO SHORT TERM AND PROFIT ORIENTATED
a note of explanation:- i have heard an electric turkey so there. It could
walk across the room.
Prolapse are brilliant. Isaw them in exeter, the singers staring into a pint
and at the floor all night, with the rest of the band with their backs to us
making a fucking racket. And the great lost band 'tarrot marrow', scotland's
finest of the early nineties. once they got to support swervedriver at king
tut's so they were pretty massive.
NOW-OBLIGATORY BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS
'the trial' by franz kafka (specially if you're into politics and THE SYSTEM)
'one hundred years of solitude' by garcia-marquezbut you've probably already
read it
'bad wisdom' by bill drummond and mark manning (so funny, perverted as fuck)
'immortality' by milan kundera
'heaven and hell'/'the doors of perception' by aldous huxley (brought on
vivid flashbacks)
'under the volcano' by malcom lowry (alcoholic nightmares in mexico)
'the story of the eye' by georges bataille (now, how twisted can a mind get?)
'the man without qualities' by robert musil (takes a year to read, worth it)
any washing machine/hairdryer manual
