Twisted? It's hardly a mindfuck on the level of those hoary old pervs
Burroughs or Ballard, but what's interesting for me is the reclamation of the
word 'cunt' as a sensuous word. Especially in the saucer of milk scene. <g>
Thanks to whoever recommended Geek Love, btw. It's engrossing. My book list is
probably too predictable but, hey, here goes:
Paul Auster - Moon Palace + City Of Glass
Ayn Rand - The Fountainhead
Jean Cocteau - Les Enfants Terribles
Martin Amis - Dead Babies
Sussana Moore - In The Cut
Stephen Fry - The Liar
Theodore Rozenstein - Flicker (I may be wrong about the author's name)
Donna Tartt - The Secret History
Helen Zahavi - Dirty Weekend
Plus the Douglas Coupland books, and Charlie Higson's novels are great too, if
totally non-B&S.
"We dress cheap, we dress tacky"
Stephen.
