Hello sinisterines!

Philippe is a lovely lovely man..., but then again, he is French, and
that's enough for me these days!

I came home to my second piece of mail from la belle France, the first
touched my heart, but alas, twas not the Black Sessions, but a postcard
from someone I met on this very list.

No the Sessions was the second piece, and let me say that my flatmate
and I were quite ecstatic and listened to it immediately! Poor souls
that we are, we missed them in Toronto and we're trying not to be bitter
about it, really we're not, just very very sad, and hope that Belle +
Seb had such a wonderful tour in North America that they'll come back
soon, and NOT just the West Coast next time!! Must do Detroit or
Toronto!! (How do you bypass legendary Motown? I'm perplexed!)

So Jeepster, please keep in mind it takes 3 days of uninterrupted
driving to get from Toronto to Vancouver??? I mean, this country is
massive!

So Philippe, those photos of the Toronto show, I obviously do not have -
I'll have to be a bit more creative now and send you something in the
spirit of B+S.

Anyhow, all you CANADIANS, email me privately if you're interested in a
copy. I'm going home now to curl up and die from too much work, no
sleep and a nasty flu - so don't be alarmed if you don't hear from me
for a few days. I'm thinking ... I know, anyone who sends a brief
little story of their favourite B+S SONG will get priority (and we'll
put it in the next issue of Idoru, if that's OK with Carly?).

Hey FUNKYSEB! My computer ate your address - please send again so I can
get a copy of Idoru with your article in it!

Oh, right, here's a tip for all you frequent BA flyers, I worked for
them in Vancouver, and really, if you bitch and bitch when they screw up
(which is most of the time!), guaranteed, you'll be doing first class
everytime. Cannot say the same for Virgin.

And it sounds like Mercury Rev have landed in the UK - try and get your
hands on the Chasing a Bee video; quite a trip. And if anyone's
wondering why their old stuff sounds nothing like the new or last album,
it's because they got a new singer, the old Flaming Lips guitarist
(Goddess on a Hiway is actually a Flaming Lips song that Jonathan never
managed to release). And Grasshopper just released a solo album last
month.

cheers,

Alexandra

PS - Carly, give me a call at home this afternoon, I cannot get the hell
out of here 'til noon, bloody hell, I'm pissed. And it's been
confirmed, not off to TO this weekend - working instead.
