Hullo List,
Had an interesting day, thought I'd relate some tidbits. First, let me
see, what I have I got in my bag of quoted posts...
Says Jason Brent:
> Anyways, I
> noticed that he was playing all his choices on vinyl. When I asked him
> why, he said everyone knows that cd's are going to turn to dust in 25
> years! Instant anxiety attack insued!!! He said most of the TRUE music

> of this? Do you people buy cd's, or albums? Needless to say, I grabbed
The deal is, some very old compact discs, from around '87 or so, have
had some problems. At certain plants, the ink written on the CD has bled
through the plastic as the years went by and pretty much ruined all CDs
made at those plants. No one knows what the future of the rest of CDs
holds, but they're probably okay. Then again, you never know. No one
knew that color photographs fade after a time. At least, the ones made
by today's processes. So the same sort of thing could happen, who knows.
Lesley Jo, back on her own writes:

> truly believes that "Arab Strap" is more deserving of top rating than > "Judy and the dream of horses" or "Photo Jenny" or "if YOu're feeling > sinister" or "Lazy...Jane". cos anyone who does, would just be plain > silly!! this is an outrage. I shall be entering my protest vote

No qualms have I with Arab Strappy on the top of the charts, but there
are numerous songs I too think should rank above it. I'm probably the
only hardcore proponent of "Electronic Renaissance," but oh well. I
would like to proclaim the TRIUMPHANT VICTORY of Loneliness of
Middle-Distance Runner over all foes! Huzzah! I don't understand
people's fascination with Modern Rock Song, as it's one of my
least-favorites. Too, I'm not that big of a fan of The State That I Am
in. But of course we all know that Sinister has diverse tastes.
It was a nice day out today, unseasonably warm, even. A nice breeze was
blowing. I took this Ink Polaroid, so I'll let you all see.
The picture is of me, though it's been taken from behind, so those of
you unfamiliar with the back of my head may not of realized that it was
me. It's decidely fall in Athens, and the air is thick with humidity,
and a bit warm. I'm carrying a jacket with me, but I'm just wearing a
T-shirt just now. It looks a bit odd, as I'm crossing a square, and as
I'm walking I'm looking straight up at the sky. Then as your eye trails
up to the sky, you notice all the leaves being blown about. Evidently
I'm watching the leaves as they're blown about by the cool wind that is
cutting through the humidity. They fall down slowly, billowed by the
wind as they are, sort of like large, brown snowflakes. It's really
quite pretty. A cursory examination of the lower regions of the picture
yields several piles of leaves from the brilliantly yellow gingko tree
in front of me. The wind is blowing them about in little eddies and
whorls. There's a few raindrops on the wind, but they don't seem to
bother me much. They're pretty infrequent, and cool rather than cold.
Kind of nice actually.
Later on the rain was to pick up, a few hundred paces from my
apartment, and I had to don my jacket and pull the hood over. Despite
the rain, upon getting to my apartment I grabbed an umbrella and while
the rain spattered upon it, I picked up my mail, which to my surprise,
included a recording of my next release! I'm quite pleased, needless to
say.
I must be off in a second, but first I must say I was able to wear my
Study at Stow tee today (that's the one from the polaroid). I managed to
find a fan amongst the masses, someone I used to have a huge crush on,
who's dating my assistant from the radio station. She has good taste
otherwise too. He doesn't like them much yet, of course, but he will...
