'Way To Blue' is indeed a fine introduction to Nick Drake, though it's
worth looking for the best of that came out in the mid-80s, it's got a
slightly better selection of songs. If you're buying his albums, bear in
mind that 'Pink Moon' is almost totally acoustic (none of those lovely
arrangements that you get on 'Bryter Later' and 'Five Leaves Left'. My
personal favourites: 'Hazy Jane' (perhaps the only song ever to mention
weasels), 'At The Chime Of A City Clock' and 'Northern Skies' (another
song that I first heard thanks to Stuart Maconie).
PS/Did you know that Nick Drake's sister appeared in the later series'
of 'Crossroads'?
