Sinister: They're taking it out on us

What is the general interpretation of this line:

"All the others did drugs
they're taking it out on us"

Is this the lament of a drug-free generation Y-er who is faster, leaner,
smarter, and more computer savvy than his washed-up 60's, 70's and 80's
counterparts who did drugs and are now taking out their feelings of
inferiority for having done them on him? Is this what I have to look
forward to from my children? Yikes!

Ciao,

Heather, a Generation X-er
