*Waves Hello to the list*
Don't you all think their should be international news coverage of the
listcrush tally? Like Bernard Shaw and Kitty Pilgrim describing how such
and such had really campaigned hard for their votes, or that Saint "the
Body" Lucy was a big surprise at 2 votes, and it was entirely because of
all the young people voting.
There were several oddities, though. For instance, Mystery Date
(please peruse Paul's Picture Pages for pertinent photographs) should
have received 5 votes! I guess that's okay, since Stuart probably didn't
know who she was, and couldn't add one more vote to her four. Also,
Madame Cholet received 3 votes, and Beth Arzy received two. I wonder if
Beth's personality has split, or maybe just that no one knew she was the
same gal. So there's two more people with 5 votes.
I'd also like to point out that the #1 Crush (I think Honey should put
it in his sig) couldn't have gone to a nicer, smuttier listmummy. Also,
I had to promise not to call Honey "Hunny" ever again. Sorry, folks. It
wasn't handed down by Honey himself of course, but one of those many
2-voters.
You see, I can claim superiority over such folk due to the fact that I
received a whopping three votes! Wa-hey ;) Thank you to the two mystery
voters, and thank you to the one I knew about.
Speaking of that, Magnetic Megan Lehar reigns the US, nay, the North
American continent with 9 votes! *cheers* The closest being a distant 4
votes away. I wonder if it would have affected her vote tally if I'd
sent that scan of those photostickers in to H(u)on(n)ey. Maybe I ought
to keep it to myself, to help her out in future elections.
Also, nice to see the Sha-La-La list got a vote. We need some more
girls. There's too many anorak-wearing boys and not enough equally-clad
girls.

Also, Mark Iles writes:
> Someone was asking why yu couldn't use 'she and me' in a sentence.
> I think it's because the two words are different declensions (is that > the word?). So you can say 'she and I' (as in 'she and I are both
> wearing cardigans') or 'her and me' (as in 'Stuart Murdoch gives both > her and me palpitations'). Errr... dull post this, isn't it.

Haha, I think someone should come up with a grammatical primer, all of
whose examples relate somehow to this list or to Belle et Sebastian.
Example:

Incorrect: He warm the cockles of my heart. Correct: He warms the
cockles of my heart.

Also, fellow 3-voted listee Lesley Jo (back on her own) requests for
members to join her in the Isobel Campbell Cutie Coalition. I wonder if
she realizes that cutie is the noun to the adjective twee. Thus, if you
are twee, you are a cutie. Thus I don't think this would do, as B&S
don't seem to encourage any twee comparisons. Maybe if you bastardized
cutie into cutey.
Also, to settle the color debate, my Pantone Color Formula Guide
reports that LLPJ is indeed "Rhodamine Red," a color which I'd never
heard of before. Seems a shame that "Rhoda" isn't on the EP now, doesn't
it? So now we have the pale blue one, the red one, the yellow one, the
Rhodamine Red one, the silver one, the green one, and the orange one. So
whoever it was who suggested that both Sinister et LLPJ were both red
was right.
Also, I enjoyed sunday's showing of "Is It Wicker Not to Chair," and
have it on tape now. Er...audio tape, I mean. I plan on listening to it
at every opportunity, for MTV US doesn't play B&S videos often. The
thing where that one band ("Fuel," was it?) were on a stage and everyone
broke the stage into little bits reminds me of a terribly punk rawk
moment from my younger years as a teenager. I used to go to one of those
hole-in-the-wall all-ages clubs where 8 bands play for $3. At one of the
shows, my friend Dusty jumped so frantically when singing with his band
"Royal Fudge & Cake" that the stage collapsed! My friend Aaron (who now
is a very big B&S fan, I'm told, guess that mixtape did it after all)
recovered a piece of the stage and promptly got lots of people who were
there to sign it, including myself. I should see if he still has that
endearing chunk of wood someday...

	Neither chunky nor wooden,
